Happy New Year!

It feels like time goes by faster as you grow older. I cannot believe that 2023 has just ended, and we are now in 2024. If I look back to 2023, I think there are still so many things that I want to accomplish, that I could not do in 2023.

2023 was full of new things: I moved to a new place, got my first non-academic job after graduating in a country far far away, and I had to work in a language that I could not even speak 3 years prior. At first I thought my german was good enough, it was not good enough to convey a precise meaning about technical stuff. I mean, I have B2 certificate, and I am pretty sure I can pass the C1 exam, but what I need is still more than that. I need more fluency and a broader, more precise vocabulary. I guess there is always a room of improvement!

Since I am getting stable this year, I am going to start 2024 doing something that I love: maths and languages. So here are my plans (or resolutions if you wanna call it that way) for this year:

  1. learn a new language (Spanish!) and try to get the B2 level;

  2. learn Finnish! I will talk about it more on a blog post;

  3. start doing yoga every day again, to make sure that I move my body enough every day, and that I get enough time every morning to reflect and start the day in a good mood;

  4. start journaling again, so that in the future I can look back to these days and at least remember what I feel.

  5. develop this blog and, actually, I want to have another website and try to explain maths through simulations and animations, but let’s say the math blog is more of a several years project.

Let's see how long my resolutions last. Hopefully until the end of 2024. I will check them all, when I write the Happy New Year post for 2025!
